I used the GoPro HERO 9 Black’s TimeWarp 3.0 feature to capture a recent bike ride along the Sligo Creek Trail in Silver Springs, MD. I started from the Wheaton Regional Park parking lot, which had plenty of parking the weekend I visited (specifically, the parking lot next to the Wheaton Miniature Train). From there, there is a short Wheaton Park connector trail that guides you to the start of the Sligo Creek Trail. The Sligo Creek Trail merges with the NW Branch Trail after ~8 miles, which then eventually merges with the Indian Creek/Anacostia Riverwalk Trail (that runs all the way to Navy Yard in Washington DC). I ended my ride (i.e. turned around) where the NW Branch Trail merges with the Indian Creek Trail. Out & back, this ride came out to ~25 miles for me. Nice ride. I’ve never done the portion north of Rt 29. My usual ride will start at Silver Spring metro, follow Sligo Creek to the Anacostia River Trail, and then into DC. Makes for a good 15 mile ride.
